The Great Outdoors I just love being outdoors while dressed up. Many trannies seem to favour the night as a time to go abroad, probably because it is the time when you can be glamorous, but I think being outdoors in the daylight is the best! Get away from the crowds and paranoia, step out into the countryside on a nice day and enjoy the warmth of the sun on your clothes and the delicious sensations the breezes bring.
Of course I am luckier than many because I live within easy access of the Lake District, Northern Pennines and the Scottish Borders; all good places to get away from people. So I know where I can walk all day without seeing a soul. Mind you, you have to be fairly rugged. Wind, rain, bog, bracken and midges (especially midges!) bring their own problems. And I've got very good at changing my clothes while balancing on one leg! But on the odd days where conditions are right, there is nothing like it. I feel totally free and in the moment, and it is a wonderful escape from the everyday routines. Amazingly, I have never run into anyone in the eighteen years I've been roaming the hills. If I am in an area where I feel it is unlikely that I would be seen even at a distance, I often don't bother with the wig and mask and hip padding. For me, a lot of the pleasure is in the feel of the clothes moving against my skin and the props get in the way of that. Recently I discovered an old limestone quarry on the top of a hill. You wouldn't know it was there unless you happened upon it as it is invisible from below. Here I have found is the ideal place for photography. Apart from being secluded it is well sheltered from the wind and relatively dry underfoot. I've had a few happy evenings there this summer and several of the following photos were taken there. Anyway enough of my prattling, here are some photos of me enjoying the great outdoors.
