Dregan Za'Tayina is a Dunedi elf from the world of Sindaya. He has ash-colored skin and hair the color of a worn silver coin (oftentimes he says 'dull silver' despite the fact that he keeps it very well groomed and clean), and ruby red eyes flecked with gold, unusual for his race. He stands just about 5'5" tall, and has the typical elf build; slender and graceful. He always wears a purple robe-like tunic, black pants, black boots, and a blue robe/cloak, with a sword, "The Thorn," on his hip and his crystal staff in his hand. Often times he is also seen with a backpack on, where he carries his familiar, Elfalon. However, during his trouble with the Sorceress Queen and the journey to get home, he did not have his familiar with him.

Dregan's personality is a double-sided coin. Often he is playful, and gentle, and kind, very willing to leap to his friends' aid and to sacrifice everything for them, giving whatever is needed. But those who have been around him for a time come to know of a darker side, a shadow of Dregan's past that continues to haunt him in nightmares and throws him into depressions that can last for days. Even when truly happy, a darkness lingers in his eyes that sometimes the other Bretheren can't ignore. His greatest fear is that this darkness will someday overpower him, to the destruction of all he holds dear.

The Bretheren consider Dregan their leader, as his magical power is greater than theirs. They follow his lead and look to him for guidance and assurance, a role he is not used to taking as his 'brothers' usually do the leading, and he the following. He sometimes doubts himself in this role, but does his best to hide it.
