Chapter 15: He's my Brother

Fox picked up the story from there from his point of view, and after he'd finished all were for a few minutes silent. Then General Pepper sighed.

"Knowing what I know, I hate to say this, but I have to. Skye... the police are on their way here... for you." All but Skye were shocked.

"What! Why?" Fox asked. "What charges?"

"Stalking, threatening, assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, destruction of private property, and attempted murder."

"I won't resist," Skye said somberly. "I know I'm guilty."

"It'll mean hard time," Falco muttered. "Damn Andross! I blame him for all this!" Fox was silent, then he smiled slyly.

"How many of the charges don't involve me?"

"Just one charge of assault and kidnapping, which are involving Peppy, and the private property damage."

"Well, that's the best the police will be able to charge Skye with, because I refuse to press charges. And I'd be crossing my arms right now if it weren't for the I.V.s, so pretend I am."

"They'll only be able to use the destruction charge," added Peppy, "because I'm with Fox." He crossed his arms decisively for the both of them."

"Are you both sure?" The general didn't sound surprised, much.

"Damn right, I'm sure," Fox huffed. "After all, he's my brother."

"I'll go see what I can do." As Pepper turned to leave, he glanced back over his shoulder, pausing with his hand on the doorknob. "Welcome back, Skye." And he left.
