Chapter 8: The Mixer
En route to The Mixer, at about seven-thirty, Fox finally told them what e'd learned. And their reaction was the same.
"What?"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, Fox," Falco added. "Say that again?"
"I have - had - an older brother named Skye. And this guy, whoever he is, knows something about him." Fox gritted his teeth slightly. "And I'm going to find out what, even if I have to beat it outta him!"
"Wow, an older brother." It was hard for Slippy, for all of them, to grasp.
"What's albino?" asked Krystal, unfamiliar with the word.
"It means Skye was born with no coloration in his skin or eyes. His fur would be white and his eyes pink, and sunlight exposure would be very dangerous for his health. Might even be hard on his eyes." It hurt Fox to think of all he'd missed. His mind briefly wandered back, wondering if he'd ever seen a white fox and, if so, had it been Skye. Had he only missed his brother by a few feet?
"Guess your father was an inventive namer," commented Falco. "Skye and McCloud."
"That's my father," adgrred Fox, as the club came into view.
"We've never been here before," commented Falco. "He's probably trying to get us on his turf."
"We'll just have to be on guard." Falco parked, and due to their celebrity status they were able to bypass the line completely.
The inside of the dance hall was typical. There was a bar that served drinks, both alacoholic and non, as well as foods like hamburgers and nachos. A dance floor was filled with Cornerians, all having a good time, while heavy dance music played. The lighting was dim, with colored bulbs flickering across thedance floor. They took a seat in a booth, and a lupine waitress strolled over.
"Welcome to The Mixer, StarFox. Anything I can get you to drink or eat?" They ordered sodas, and she put a small disc on the table. "I'll be back shortly. If at any time you need anything else, just press the disc and I'll come right over." Their sodas arrived, and they waited.

A/N: Again another short one, but again, the next one is long, and it's one I've had in mind for a LONG time.
