"You don't remember?" Zidane asked.
"No... It's more like I hid it - somewhere. I know I used a map of Gaia, and did - something - to determine where to hide it." Steiner rummaged out a map, and laid it on the table.
"Maybe this will help." All studied it, but nothing seemed to stand out. Kuja frowned, trying to remember.
"I - think I drew something on a map, a pattern, and used that to pick my hiding place." He leaned his chin in his palm. "But what picture?"
"If you remember the machine," Dr. Tot commented, "then most likely the pattern is there as well."
"We don't have time for my sketchy memory to cooperate!" the frustrated Genome replied. "Every moment is crucial!"
"Then relax," the bird-like man replied. "Relax, and think." Kuja took a deep breath and let it out slowly, then studied the map.
"I think Alexandria was part of it. Hmm..." He tapped the city with his finger. His eyes lit up. "Wait! I made a little saying to remember. 'The - Jewel of the World - '" His finger slid to Lindblum. '"Where knowledge is found - '" To his base on the Lost Continent. "' - All shall bow to me - '" To the location of the Lifa Tree. "' All Life shall be mine - '" To Median Sari, '" - when I gain the summoner's power.'" His finger returned to Alexandria. "'Thus my eye watches all.'" Very quickly they redrew the route, and it made a squareish shape, kinda like an eye.
"That covers a lot of area, bro," Zidane frowned. "And most of it's ocean." But it seemed Kuja wasn't finished.
"My web covers all." From each key point he drew a line across to the other side, be it a city or part of a connecting line. As he drew the final line, they all saw that the lines crossed at one point. "There. That is where I his the machine."
"It's in the mountains, right near Burmecia!" Freya gasped. Kuja nodded to himself
"It's there."
"If it is, the airship won't be of any help," Zidane mentioned. "We'll need a red chocobo, at least." He smiled brightly. "Guess we'll have to make a trip to Chocobo's Paradise first."
"Then lets go!" Vivi said instantly standing. "Time is running short."
"I'll stay here," Kuja offered, "to help with the Black Mages. Goodness knows, I owe it to them."
"Okay." Zidane stood. "Lets go!"
