Author’s Note: Ok, just so there’s as minimal confusion as possible, the following few chapters happen more or less at the same time, with at most a few minutes difference, until about chapter 12. And I hope that you are all enjoying this look at Kylado city and it’s inhabitants. Also, to Shishio, thank you for the devoted reviews. When the Bretheren to fight in the tournament, it will be fun, that's a promise!

Chapter 6: Fun and Games

The group of kids ran through the streets, following Zyton and Adrea. The park was in sight when…

“Mnh!” All stopped and looked back at the pouting noise to see little Savander some ways back, arms crossed and frowning cutely.

“Oh!” Lily exclaimed. “Savander can’t keep up.” Tavann jogged back and knelt with his back to his cousin.

“Climb on.” With a giggle, Savander obeyed and Tavann gave him a piggy back ride.

“He really doesn’t talk, does he?” Ollan whispered.

“Nope,” replied Astrahna as the two rejoined the group. “Never has. But he gets his point across.”

“So what first?” asked Cal.

“Well, there’s lots of fun games,” answered Zyton. “Throwing games, guessing games, the Coins in the Haystack game, lots of fun.”

“What’s the Coins in the Haystack game?”

“It’s right over there, Sola.” AT that Savander went into a giggle fit, and Vivi’s sons laughed too. Zyton blinked. “What?”

“Hehe, I’m not Sola. I’m Turo.”

“Oops. Sorry. I can’t really tell you all apart, except for Val and Cal.”

“Lots of people mix us up,” agreed Ollan. “It’s kinda fun, especially for Sola and Turo. They like confusing people.”

“But you can’t confuse my little brother,” Lily put in proudly. “He’s too smart.” Savander’s liquid-rainbow eyes whirled happily.

“Well, as I was saying, it’s over there.” Zyton pointed to a huge stack of hay being maintained by some of the guards. “They scatter it with little pouches, with wooden coins inside. Then they give twenty kids a minute to find five pouches each. The coin inside determines what tickets you get, which you can take to people in various stalls for food and stuff.” Adrea grinned.

“You can’t lose, and what’s even better, it’s a free game!”

“Wouldn’t people lost money of it’s free?” asked Ialee.

“I bet the government reimburses the people involved,” Ollan reasoned.

“Yep,” Adrea chirped. “Grandpa buys back the tickets at the end of the day from the shop owners. He really likes to see kids having fun. He says they make him feel younger.”

“Hey.” Darius did a quick head count. “There’s sixteen of us. We could play together.”

“Lets go.” Soon they were all romping in the hay, searching for straw-colored pouches.

“There’s one!”

“That’s three!”

“I got two!”

“Me too, Sola!”

“Yay!”

“Giggle giggle giggle!”
