Chapter 50: Soon
Natar glided effortlessly over the Path, retracing his steps back towards Talsdia, as he'd felt Sindaya near there. The mages' mood was much inproved over the last time they'd made the attempt, and the Twilight Dragon noticed.
: I take it whatever caused your unease before is gone now: he commented. Dregan chuckled.
"Gone and forgotten," he replied. "About how far are we away?"
: Not too far now. I can faintly sense your world already.:Dregan grinned.
"My family and friends would be thinking of me alot," he agreed.
"The instant we appear over Sindaya," Vivi said cheerfully, "lets break this curse once and for all."
"Yeah," Orko added. "Then we'll have time to see at least some of Sindaya."
"We should at least visit Salladium," Dregan commented, "so we can ask Lady Iridesca what she can make of the cubes. They're unique, and might have added properties we aren't aware of."
"Sounds good to me. I for one am curious about the Mage Keep. Nothing like that exists on Talsdia."
"It's a wonder, all right." The Dunedi chuckled. "But no less tham Ambre. We'll see it all, at least fly over, before you go home."
"I think this are is a little familiar," Zentarou commented, looking around.
"Maybe," Vivi said. "After all these twists and turns, I have a little trouble telling all these areas apart." Natar chuckled.
: Unless one if a Twilight Dragon, it is difficult. And even for us, we rely on our senses rather than our eyes and memories. There are just too many worlds and universes to memorize them all:
"I wonder if Feamor could even do it," Dregan commented softly. "He's trying to map the multiverse, but to see this - " He shook his head slightly, then shuckled. "It's still amazing."
: Something has come to my attention.: Natar commented.
"Ok?" Vivi asked.
: Yes.: He paused to hover, looking over his shoulder at them. : You four live on different worlds, so who will keep my emerald: At this they blinked, as he resumed flying.
"Um... I'm not sure..." Dregan admitted. They laughed.
: May I suggest whoever could use the transport? That way I could be useful.:
"Cloud usually carries me wherever I need to go," Zentarou said.
"And Elfalon, or Adynaeus, carry me," added Dregan. Vivi adjusted his hat.
"Well, I usually don't travel much, and when I do, it's by chocobo or airship." He looked around Zentarou at his fellow short mage. "What about you, Orko?"
"I don't travel much either, but the transportation could come in handy for long distances, if not for me then for my friends."
: Only mages can summon me: Natar informed them, : but I will gladly carry anyone I am asked to, as long as the asker is one I know, like you four. So I'll entrust my emerald to you, Orko.: Orko gulped.
"Trolly-molly. I'll take good care of it."
: I know you will.: Natar veered right twice, then shot straight. The area looked decently familiar, even to the mages. Dregan shifted restlessly, looking about eagerly. He absently rubbed the amythyst on the chain, obviously thinking of his family.
Soon... they all heard his mental assurance, sent out across the realms to his world. Soon...
