| This page is a tribute to my favorite music group Sublime. There style of mixing reggae, punk, ska, and hip-hop has
redefined today's music. With the untimely death of frontman Bradley Nowell, the band will only live on in our memories. The group
produced 3 albums after 10 years of trying to make a name for themselves. Unfortunately, Bradley died of a heroin overdose just before the
release of their self entitled album that made Sublime a nationwide success, with the album going 6x's platinum. The bassist Eric Wilson
and drummer Bud Gaugh put together a tribute band to raise money for Bradley's son Jakob James Nowell forming the group named the
Long Beach Dub
Allstars. Joining the band were saxist/flutist Tim Wu, Jack Maness on keyboards, Opie Ortiz (the man responsible for all of Sublime's
artwork and tatoos) on vocals, Ras 1 on lead vocals and lead guitar, and Field Marshall Goodman on the turntables and percussions. The
Long Beach Dub Allstars are living proof that the memory of Sublime will live on and that Long Beach, CA will not be forgotten. |
