RWW RETRO WITH THE BOY
(We open with a montage of the history of RWW, showing highlights from the greatest moments, from the very first show to the last. Many classic matches and moments are briefly shown. Many of the company's biggest stars are shown throuhgout: Stupac, Legend Inc., Donte' Rocker, Jay Zee, Scott Hellings, Bombtrack, Pantera, Lancelot, and so forth. The montage comes to an end and we end up in the old RWW Studios with none other than Rob Gamble himself and former RWW star Scott "The Boy" Hellings.)
Rob: Hello everyone and welcome to a very special retrospective on the history of Rampage World Wrestling. I'm Rob Gamble.
Hellings: And I'm Scott "The Boy" Hellings, but you probably knew that already.
Rob: Tonight we are going to be counting down the five greatest matches in RWW history.
Hellings: That's right Rob. Now unforunately, I've seen the list and I gotta tell you, it's not perfect by any means. You see,
The Boy should, naturally, be listed in every single match because it's a fact that I am the greatest performer in the history of not
only RWW but this entire industry. I know it, you know it, the whole damn world knows it! But to be a little bit more fair, to
make the other guys out there feel better about themselves, they threw a couple of matches in there that I, regretably, was not a part of.
I understand, I do, but it seems to me that treating people as equals when they clearly are not is just plain communism.
Rob: Well you're right Scott, you have been in some great matches, but there have also been a lot of great matches without you as well.
That is what made it so difficult for us to compile this list of the best of the best, because we had a whole lot to choose from.
Hellings: That's right Rob, RWW was known for it's incredible matches and, more importantly, it was known for being the home
of the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time, The Boy.
Rob: If you can stop talking about yourself for a minute, let's get started. Our first match on the list was a monumental one...even though you were not a part of it Scott.
Hellings: That depends on who you ask. I know my fans, The Boy Scouts, would certainly not agree to any match being great that
did not involve me.
Rob: Be that as it may, it was a great contenst. For months, three separate organizations, the Renegades,
Team UWF and Team UCF were all trying to take over Rampage World Wrestling. So, at Honor 2001 the three teams squared off against
Team RWW in a Caged Rage match and the results were incredible.
Match #5: From Honor 2001
At the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, August 17, 2001
Caged Rage Match
Team RWW (Stupac, Big Daddy Bruce, Jay Zee, and MC Tommy Dee) vs.
The Renegades (Bombtrack, Rob Van Dam, The Abyss, and A Mystery Partner)
vs. Team UWF (Killer Instinct, X-Con, Hardcore Wallace, and Nitro) vs.
Team UCF (The Big E, Shane Douglas, Lancelot, and A Mystery Partner)
Special Guest Referee: Jim McMahon
Hellings: Oh yeah, I remember that match now. You know why I wasn't in that match? Because
I wanted to give the other three teams a sporting chance. I mean, with me in there, Team RWW
would have cleaned up in no time because, after all, I am the Boy and that does mean I am The Best.
Rob: Do you ever stop?
Hellings: What do you mean?
Rob: With all the catchphrases and the talking yourself up and all that.
Hellings: Well if you have to ask then you obviously do not know me as well as I thought you did.
Rob: You're not here to impress anyone you know.
Hellings: You're right, I'm not because I don't have to. That is because everyone else who used to hang out in that RWW locker room was just a plain, ordinary superstar. But me? I am the one, the only UBERstar!
And when you're this good Rob, you don't need to prove anything.
Rob: (Sighs) Well that last match was incredible and so was the next one, which does include you.
Hellings: You see? They can't keep me off the list entirely, they need the ratings folks.
Rob: Your old PSI teammates Jay Zee and Tommy Dee got their shot at glory in Caged Rage, but it was you who got a shot
at the Undisputed Championship against Big Daddy Bruce.
Scott: That's right. Big Daddy Bruce was always a pain in the neck. He was a washed-up has-been before I even entered the scene. Some guys just don't know when to give up I guess.
Rob: Well he certainly gave you some competition at Battlelines 2002.
Scott: Yeah, well I wasn't feeling good that night. I ran into Mercy backstage beforehand and I think I caught a little bit of (making quotation marks with his fingers) "The Sickness."
Rob: Well let's see what happened when Bruce clashed with The Boy on Hellings' home turf of Toronto.
Match #4: From Battlelines 2002
At the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, September 8, 2002
World Title Match: Big Daddy Bruce vs. Scott "The Boy" Hellings
Rob: That was an incredible match, but it was not your greatest moment.
Hellings: Oh please! I let him win! I wanted to give him a false sense of security for the pending rematch.
Rob: I thought you were sick.
Hellings: Well yeah, I always feel sick anytime Big Daddy Bruce is in the main event. Yuck!
Rob: Well that match was a classic for the Undisputed Title, as was the next one. It was a match
that proved not only how great Pantera was, but it finally made the critics sit up and realize that women
truly can compete with men on an even playing field in the squared circle. Pantera made history when she became the first woman to ever hold the
RWW Championship.
Hellings: Well sure, maybe she could beat some loser like The Jester, but she would not have been so lucky against The Boy. Pantera may be capable of taking on
any other man, but not me.
Rob: You're not a man, you're The Boy.
Hellings: Hey, they may call me The Boy but there is no dobut that I am The Man, alright? And who said you could crack jokes? Are you trying to steal
my thunder? I should be the focus of attention here dammit! The people are tuning in to see me, not you.
Rob: Uh...sorry.
Hellings: Damn straight. Anyway...trust me, Pantera may be just as good, if not better than everyone else, but she is still only 1/27 as great as The Boy.
Rob: Sure, you're saying that now while we're here in the studio, but what if Pantera were to actually get her hands on you?
Hellings: Hey believe me, I'd very much appreciate it if she got her hands on me.
Rob: The third match on our list is Pantera vs. Jester in a two out of three falls match from Retaliation 2002.
Match #3: From Retaliation 2002
At The Sports Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, November 24, 2002
Best Two Out Of Three Falls for The RWW Undisputed Title:
The Jester vs. Pantera
Rob: Well that was another classic, but so is our next matchup.
Hellings: I highly doubt it.
Rob: You know Scott, you were a part of PSI, one of the most dominant groups in wrestling. But before PSI, Rampge World Wrestling was home to another
powerful force, the Oval Office. And Bombtrack was, by far, its most devastatingly powerful member ever.
Hellings: Right, which is exactly why the Oval Office failed. Bombtrack was your number one guy? The only time Bombtrack and number one are in the same sentence
is when someone asks him to give a urine sample for another failed drug testing.
Rob: What's wrong with you? Are you sure you're not on drugs?
Hellings: Hey, I'm the normal one here buddy. You used to take orders from a volleyball, remember? And sadly, that was only the second
inanimate object to have control in RWW! Donte Rocker's guitar was commissioner for crying out loud! You've really got a thing
for inanimate objects, don't you Rob? No wonder you signed Dan Coil to a contract.
Rob: Well anyway, this match was also great. The second match on our list pitted Bombtrack against
Legend Inc at Instinct 2001, with yours truly as the special guest referee.
Hellings: You just had to throw yourself in there, eh? (Shakes his head) Egomaniac.
Rob: Pff...hypocrite.
Hellings: What was that?
Rob: Oh, shut up.
Match #2: From Instinct 2001
At The Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Michigan, July 6, 2001
World Title Match: Legend Inc. vs. Bombtrack
Special Guest Referee: Rob Gamble
Rob: You know I think I did a pretty good job as referee there.
Hellings: Well I'm glad there is one thing you're good at, because it certainly isn't compiling lists of great matches. Only one match with yours truly?
Rob: That's right, so far we've had the Caged Rage match, your match against Big Daddy Bruce at Battlelines, Pantera vs. Jester in a two out of three falls
match and Legend Inc. vs. Bombtrack. But heck, at least you got on the list, right?
Hellings: Yeah but look at how many times Big Daddy Bruce is on this list. Bruce, Rob? Bruce sucked!
Rob: You're just mad because he beat you all the time.
Hellings: Not all the time! Besides, I told you, I used to let him win. Respect your elders, haven't you ever heard that before?
Rob: I'm older than you, you don't respect me.
Hellings: Well I'm sorry, but I can't respect anyone who is a BDB fan.
Rob: But Bruce was one of, if not the greatest, performers in Rampage World Wrestling history.
Hellings: Hey! Take that back! Watching a Bruce match was worse than listening to a Big E promo! You know what? I get it now.
You're just trying to get under my skin because you're jealous of me. Oh yeah, it all makes sense. Hey, I can't blame you, if I were you I'd want to be me too!
Rob: It's not that, I just really always liked Bruce's work. He was an icon, a legend in this business!
Hellings: A legend?
Rob: Hey I just call it the way I see it. I am "Straight Shooting Rob Gamble" you know.
Hellings: Okay first of all, that catchphrase is so 2001. And secondly, you wanna talk legends? I'm THE Canadian Legend pal! People in the Great White North sit around campfires talking of my greatness, passing it down from
generation to generation. Couples name their children after me!
Rob: I think when they call it Baby Boy that just means they haven't thought of a real name yet.
Hellings: Okay, you know what? I can't handle this! I'm calling my agent! I deserve more respect than this dammit!
(The Boy storms off, leaving a smiling Gamble behind)
Rob: Well now that he's gone, I can finally introduce the greatest match in Rampage World Wrestling history. BDB and Legend Inc. were at each other's throats and produced some of the greatest
matches of all time. The two were scheduled to go at it in a best of seven series, that unfortunately had to be cut short due to injury. Nevertheless, one match stands out above all the rest. From one incredible edition of Friday
Fire, Big Daddy Bruce and Legend Inc. squared off in a match that won't soon be forgotten. And it was appropriate that another
legend, Donte Rocker, was there to officiate this classic bout.
Match #1: From Friday Fire
From The Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado, March 9, 2001
World Title Match: Big Daddy Bruce vs. Legend Inc. Special Guest Referee: Donte’ Rocker
(The show then fades out to show the RWW Press Conference that was held earlier in the day. Gamble talks about RWW being about one thing, the fans. Gamble notes that a huge announcement was made at the conference.)
The press conference is shown. A stage is set up with former RWW stars on it, sitting behind tables. Stupac, Pantera, Gamble. Hellings is behind a podium. Reformation - "A Rampage Reunion" Gamble says an invitation is being sent out to every former RWW superstar to take part in the festivities. Gamble promises an explosive night and that it will only be the beginning.
