They would be of our own making,
they would be of bolts and steel.
Somedaysoon they would take over
without pause, without appeal.
But, now, thinking back on those days,
at the days when we feared bolts,
at the days when we feared metal,
we say fears are full of faults.
Now we laugh and grin victorious,
now we laugh and think we've won,
for the robots are now actors
in the films we see for fun.
But the people I see walking
in the cities and the streets,
with their mindless mumbled talking,
make me think of metal sheets.
