The sky I knew in distant lands
above red earth and whirling sands
no longer bids me well.
I've gone away
and now I stay
in this grey smog-filled shell.
The earth I knew in countries far
below blue sky and bright white star
no longer knows my name.
I've gone astray
and now I play
in this green field so tame.
The fire I knew in nations there
where people's souls are raw and bare
no longer pulls me on.
I've come along
and now belong
to those whose souls are gone.
