Most people claim their love is pure,
but how can that be true
when one love in a million
survives a whole life through?
Since all but one in a million
dissolve like morning dew,
pure love must be the rarest thing,
like penguins in Peru.
And since pure love is really rare,
then let us change our view
and pause before we use that word,
and ration "I love you."
