Yesterday I bought some parts
for my brand new Ford
-- taillight, bumper, fender, hood,
roof, spark plugs, lamps, cord,
steering wheel, seats, windshield frame,
doors, grilles, mirrors, tires,
fanbelt, pickup bed, trunk lid,
radiator, wires.
Some might think that's just too much
for a car that's new
-- polished, gleaming, sparkling clean,
fresh as morning dew,
every part a perfect fit,
nuts and bolts screwed tight,
straight out of a magazine,
everything just right.
Those whose thinking is like this,
don't know all the facts:
(1) little screaming kid on board,
(2) driver's mind distracts,
(3) just paid paycheck for his car,
(4) sees car salesman's smirk,
(5) doesn't stop to check the road,
(6) backs into some jerk.
