AUGUST 21, 2003: EYE OF THE STORM
Everything is feeling in place today. I don�t understand how this could be so seeing as I have an appointment to be tortured this afternoon, but it does nonetheless. I woke up a little antsy, and I am pretty sure that there will be something in the mail that I don�t like, but other than that I am relatively calm. Just wait and see as I enter the building for the tooth pulling contest and I will probably be close to having a heart attack. I know what it is all about; I have been through it twice, yet I am still abnormally scared.
I went outside to put the laundry on before to discover that not only was the sky the beautiful shade of grey that I could see from my window, but a gentle rain was falling. It made me want to go camping, to be curled up under several blankets to steel me from the cold listening to the rain patter on the tent. The best part of rain is the smell of the trees. I am not a fan of freshly cut grass, unless it has been raining. The weather is perfect, I lost a kilo, and I am calm.
We�ll see what happens later.

THE APPOINTMENT
The dentist went thus:
�We have no suction so would be able to postpone your appointment until the 2nd of September?�
So, okay, for the first time I had willed away all the angst, was prepared for the appointment, and then they go and cancel it! What bastards! Oh well. Now at least I can eat some good food! I am cooking nice warm garlic bread as we speak. Cheers.

SOMEONE ELSE'S APPOINTMENT

Valdemar Lopes de Moraes, 39, was suffering from muffled hearing, and thought his name had been called out in the waiting room at a clinic in the town of Montes Claros in south-eastern Minas Gerais state, Reuters news agency reported.
He promptly went into a consulting room - where a doctor was performing vasectomies.
The staff had really called out Aldemar, not Vlademar - but they say they gave the full name, Aldemar Aparecido Rodrigues, of the man who was scheduled for the snip.
"The strangest thing is that he asked no questions when the doctor started preparations in the area which had so little to do with his ear," said clinic manager, Vanessa Guimaraes.
Do you think a man like this should have any more children anyway?

I love camping, but not in the rain. I am a fan of rain in just about any other situation than camping (or days where I have to were a dress).

Your right. I should have said it after his email. Hes the one that put himself up for vulnerability there. and I didn't say it in person. I'm such a chicken. Not that we've both said it in writing I hope he'll take another risk and say it outloud first.
Enough about me. Too bad about the dentist. Prolonging the worry is never a good thing.
