Kyoto ARC begins when Kenshin heard of Minister Okubo's story about the taking over Yamato(Japan) by a hitokiri slayer named Shishio Makoto.Shishio has an assassin group called the Juppongatana.The mambers are :
1.Seta Soujiro-Though he may appear as a smiling boy he has the abilities of a great swordsman and he killed minister okubo.
2.Unuma Usui-A blind juppongatana member who uses an unusual technique called the SHINGAN.It can sense an opponent's feelings but his technique was defeated by Saitoh's Gatotsu ZEROSHIKI.
3.Sawagejou Chou-He's kind of cool when he wink he's eye and he got this awesome sword called HAKUJIN NOTACHI.
4.Saizuchi Roujin-This guy reminds me of an evil hampster. Look at him! He has the biggest bald head I have ever seen!
5.Fuji-Fuji is so tall, he can't enter buildings. He has red eyes (I think Watsuki is greatly influenced by Evangelion) and long, white hair. Underneath all his armor, he is surprisingly tan.
6.Kamatari Honjou-He pretends to be a "she."
7.Yukyuzan Anji-Anji has smudged black ash around his eyes. He wears a bandana on his head.
8.Kariwa Hennya-With Hikuu Hapa, Hennya uses weapons during flight and throws them on the ground below.
9.Iwanbou-He's so dumb even if you look at him you can say he's stupid.But he's really a puppet created by GEIN the puppetmaster who participated in ENISHI'S JINCHUU.
10.Komagata Yumi-She was one of the highest ranking geisha in Japan until she was disillusioned by the whole geisha "system." She met Shishio and they became lovers

11.Sodojima Hoji-One of Shishio's "10 Swords." He's the brains behind Shishio's "Kuni Tori" (aka taking over Japan).
12.SHISHIO MAKOTO/SHISHIO-SAMA!!- Once a hitokiri like KENSHIN but was burned by the Meiji Government but the GREAT shishio survived and is now planning to take over JAPAN.
