Wretched and unforgiving, these parasitic like warriors had laid waste to countless civilizations, ironically by assimilating them into their own. The Shi'ar Empire at the time saw their defeat and destruction on the horizon, and they played the one move they had left..their vast and somewhat limitless technology.
Merging minds and science, the Shi'ar created their greatest weapon and they gave it a name to fit it's seemingly limitless powers. Obrecon...That Which Can Not Die..
Earning his name, Obrecon single handedly laid waste to the swarm of Brood armies, doing what had never been done before..not only holding the Brood back, but causing them to retreat and flee the Shi'ar planets they had already over run. Obrecon was the pride of the Shi'ar Galaxy, a weapon that would assure their ultimate survival, and it was so beloved that some began to say Obrecon was the offspring of Sharra and K'ythri, the Shi'ar chief gods.
It came to a point where Obrecon himself was being worshipped by a multitude of followers...The leaders of The Shi'ar Empire didn't take well to this at all, they feared a split in the Empire...that countless years of work would be undone...and worse yet...that Obrecon could overthrow them.
Growing accustomed to his growing popularity, and the followers and benefits that came with it, Obrecon was furious when The Shi'ar Empire sent him on a false mission, in fact banishing him and his followers to one of the lesser planets in the galaxy. It was there on a planet that would be named Obrecai, after it's new god, that Obrecon began to grow an army, forging a new empire.
When the Shi'ar attacked Obrecon finally, he made them pay for their betrayal in full, slaughtering millions in the course of a few weeks. The Shi'ar had also made the mistake of letting their downed ships fall into the hands of the Obrecites as they'd come to call themselves. Repairing the ships, Obrecon made ready to return from his exhile, and to destroy the Shi'ar Empire once and for all.
The Shi'ar mounted one last offence and attacked Obrecai, a one day battle that cost the Shi'ar over three forths of their military. In the end the entire planet of Obrecai was destroyed, and what was left of Obrecon...That Which Can Not Die, was hidden over a galaxy away..where no one would think to look. Obrecai became a forgotten planet, and with the Obrecites destroyed, there was no one left to remember what had happened, no one who would dare speak of it. Obrecon became nothing more but a ghost of a myth in the Shi'ar Empire.
In 2006 Obrecon's power was reduced by the X-Men to keep him from overloading. As a result he now seems unable to conjure any energy based powers, though his shape shifting abilities are still fully active.
A side effect of his magnifiscent power being channeled through a living host, Obrecon's eyes are a bright crystalline red, and other parts of his skin retain that same red, including his forhead, his lips, the tops of his arms and the back of his hands. His hair, if his host has any, will also become partially blended with this almost fluorescent red color.
Whether part of his natural genetics or by his shapeshifting ability, Obrecon is capable of forming the now almost extinct, Shi'ar bird like wings. Obrecons wings are black feathered, and again, with the bright red tips on them.
The only other feature to note is his clothing. Obrecon's clothing is a mostly dark red, leather like body suit. This suit itself is actually part of Obrecon's body, it's a material he produces as part of his shapeshifting ability, likewise if it was damaged, it would take only an act of his will to repair it.
