SOME 1987 SPORTSTER FACTS

9,356 Sportsters were manufactured in 1987. 4,618 of those were 1100's, of those, 600 were special editions celebrating the model's 30th Anniversary, 1957 - 1987. The Anniversary Edition left the factory with a black and chrome engine treatment, special 30th Anniversary paint and graphics. As you can see the paint scheme is black and orange with gold and white pin striping. Along with special 30th. Anniversary graphics on the tank and front fender.

The 1100 cc. or 67.2 cid. engine was only manufactured for two years, 1986 and 1987. It replaced the 1000 cc., and was replaced by the 1200 cc.
