On the north east shore you will find a small bayou called Lasseigne Bayou. This bayou, small stream, connects with others and start at the Mississippi River near the town of Killona. A small community named Les Allemands was founded there in the early 1700's. It was near a break in the rivers' bank, crevasse, that allowed river water to flow into Lake Des Allemands. Could it also have allowed for transportation, of the Kleibers' of long ago, to and from the river region? Further research will be needed to confirm or deny this.
Is it a coincidence that this point, Bonne Carrie Point, in the river is located so close to the Diamond Plantation where Etienne Klibert took his family to live and work?
