Life is the act of living, being alive, whether plant, animal or human. Life and living is what everyone wants. But how life is lived, determines the quality of one's existance. Without a doubt, people are truely seeking the best quality of living they can acquire.
How is the quality of your life? If you are a non-Christian and wish to refute, deny or otherwise not accept the Bible, what are you really denying? In a nutshell, you are refuting, denying religion as you know it and the person of Jesus Christ. Is that a fair assumption?
Well, contrary to popular belief, the Bible is not a religious book, although man seeks to make it such. The Bible was not penned to establish different religious groups. It is very non-sectarian. The Bible is a "How To" book of instruction to man on living. Living at peace with himself and others. You have the right to choose how your life is. If you are interested in an abundant life, read on.
First of all, we must take the Bible at face value. We need to believe what God says.
God says this life is in His Son. Well, what does that mean? It means that prior to Jesus, God spoke through prophets and events. People still failed to believe or accept and did things their own way. That way didn't work so God, in order to drive the point home, had to become a man to comunicate to man face to face. So He came in the body of Jesus Christ (2 Cor.5:19) "...God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation."
While He was here he taught His disciple how to do the right things, how to live life the right way. To further drive the point home He, in Christ, died in order that man could by his own choice receive the same spirit. But first, in this world, life does not consist of thing prossessions a person has. Luke 12:15 Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions." Life then must consist of something other than possessions. It is character and attitude. It is the character and attitude of Christ. When we read and study the Scripture we begin to know His character and attitudes toward every situation.
What are the character traits and attitudes of Christ? (Gal 5:22-23) "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." These character traits enable us to live the abundant life. But they can only be produced in us by having His spirit indwelling in us. Therein lies the difference. 1 John 5:12 "He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." If you have not yet trusted and believed, I invite you now to accept Jesus Christ and why He came. Not only in His coming, but in the fact that He died for you personally and more important, that He rose again alive from among the dead, that you might have LIFE. Accept Him and He will do the rest. If this makes sense to you, let me know. |
