The story of Zeus is very convoluted and indeed
a bit strange. It sort of plays around like one of William Faulkner's
stories such as As I Lay Dying, filled with imagery, dream
pictures and fast actions. It also resembles the
stories of Clamp such as Tokyo Babylon, where evil people
manipulate others. Still, You's drawings give it a twist of its own. I've
yet to come across anyone who draws
like her and this makes this story totally new.
In the heart of Zeus lies Kira, a young
man who possesses some strange beads which allow him to bring people back
to life and perform magic. His magic is incredibly strong, even if
his nature is soft and he appears very weak, and his best wish is to live
a healthy life with his friends. Still, his
dreams hunt him. In them, he sees the memories of his house as it
burns to cinders and a brother he can only long to see again. His dreams
often scare him and the abuse he feels inside them,
such as rape, wake him with tears in his eyes. Kira is an innocent and
quiet boy, but his face is constantly twisted into pain-- pain that comes
from the abuse of older
men and sad memories-- and he feels a separation has occurred inside his
soul.
