GED At WITCC - Reading
Language Arts, Reading
For more information about the
Language Arts, Reading test, click on the link to the Center for Adult Learning & Educational Credentials.  There you can also take a mini test which will give you an idea as to the types of questions you will find on the exam.

For practice in reading nonfiction, you can investigate the
Learning Resources site.  This site provides current and past CNN San Francisco bureau news stories.  Each module includes the full text of a news story and interactive activities to test comprehension, as well as other reading skills.  After linking to the site you can click on the "Current Story" or go to the "Story Archives."  After reading a story, choose any of the online activities in the left margin to test your skills.

Another site which provides a variety of articles to read, as well as online reading comprehension activities is the
California Distance Learning Project.  After linking to the site, choose from the list of student activities and follow the directions on the site.

A fun site that will help you work on your critical reading skills is
MysteryNet.com.  On this site you can read short mysteries and try to solve them.  There is even some help with clues!

The
Wiscomsin Online Resource Center site includes a link to an online Reading Test that will help you determine your readiness for being successful on the Language Arts, Reading portion of the GED exam.  After linking, click on "ABE/ESL" and choose the Language Arts, Reading button.

For additional information and practice questions, check out the
McGraw-Hill Online Learning Center site.
