| September Ride Information September 5th --Moon Light Ride at 219th Avenue, Desert Ride. Short Ride: About 2 or 2� hours, Rating 1 to 1� Lunch: To Be Determined Ride Time: Staging at 6:45 PM, Ride at 7:00 PM Sharp Ride Leader: Ben Davidson or his Appointee Description: This ride will be mostly in open desert with Cactus and other desert plant, . We will ride in and out of some small washes and visit an old paint ball range. Directions: Driving West on Bell Road which will become Sun Valley Parkway 2 miles past Cotton Lane. Continue West to 219th Avenue. We will be parking in the field on the left side of 219th Ave just off of Sun Valley parkway. If you are coming from I-10 there is a cross over at 219th Ave. Remember: If anyone needs additional info they can call Ben (602 319-1208) or Al (623 707-6561) Follow the GEC Signs September 26th -- New River Ride out from John Deegans, Willow Hill Ranch Long Ride: About 3 or 3� hours, Rating 1� to 2 Lunch: On the Trail - Bring your lunch. Ride Time: Staging at 7:45 PM, Ride at 8:00 PM Sharp Ride Leader: Ben Davidson or his Appointee Description: This ride will be on trails that are mostly dirt and the ride will take only about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Although you can not call this area flat, you can not call it mountainous, it is small rolling hills. This is a nice light/easy ride. Directions: Take I-17 North from Phoenix to Exit 232 turn right, East, go to the stop sign turn left, North, you will now be on a frontage road for I-17. Travel north past the Roadrunner Restaurant, past the School over the Cattle Guard and through the River the road curves and turns but after it turns to dirt you will come to John Deegans Ranch �Willow Hill�. | October Ride Information October 10th --Gates Road, North Hassayampa River Poker Ride and Club sponsored BBQ Long Ride: About 1 1/2 to 2 hours � Rating 1 to 1� Lunch: Club Sponsored BBQ after Ride. Ride time: Staging at 9:45, Ride at 10:00 Sharp. Ride Leader: Ben Davidson or his appointee Description: This is a Hassayampa River ride and we will be riding North toward Wickenburg under the Trestle up to the Bird Sanctuary, we should find a small amount of water in the river. We may also be riding up one or two washes. This is a BBQ and Poker Ride. Directions: Travel west on Grand Ave., Hwy 60 from Phoenix to about � of a mile past Mile Marker 121, turn south (left) onto Gates Road, take this road to the river bottom making sure you always take the fork to the right. Long Ride: About 3 or 3� hours, Rating 1 to 1� Lunch: On the Trail - Bring your lunch. Ride Time: Staging at 9:45 PM, Ride at 10:00 PM Sharp Ride Leader: Ben Davidson or his Appointee Description: The ride will be in the Foot Hills on the North of Hwy 74. We will riding in the Morgan City Wash with high sides a sandy floor and end up at the ruins of the ghost town, Morgan City; maybe we will be able to find the old miner�s cemetery. We will take a short break to rest the horses and riders and have lunch before starting back. The views are fantastic and this is one ride you don�t want to miss. Directions: From Phoenix drive north to Hwy 74 via I-17 Go west about 12.8 mile to the N. Christian Church Camp Road (may not have a road sign). Turn north and go about 1.2 miles to the parking area. Or from the Loop 303 (Lake Pleasant Road), drive West on Hwy 74 (Carefree Hwy) turn west for about 6.6 miles to the N. Christian Church Camp Road (may not have a road sign). | November Ride Information November 14 -- Badger Springs at Agua Fria National Monument Short Ride: About 2 to 2� hours � Rating 1� to 2 Lunch: At the Trailers after ride � Bring a Lunch. Ride Time: Staging at 9:45 Ride at 10:00 Ride Leader: Ben Davidson or his Appointee . Description: This ride will be up and down Small Mountains or Large Hills on two track trails and we will also do some riding in sandy washes. The last part of the ride will be by the Agua Fria River close to it�s origin. We will be eating lunch on the river�s bank. The scenery is great. Direction: Travel North on I-17 to Exit 256 (Badger Springs Road) and exit to the right, you will be turning into the parking lot. Follow the GEC Signs November 28 -- Estrella Mountain Regional Park Ride Long Ride: About 3 to 3 � Hours � Rating 2 to 2� Lunch: On the Trail � bring a lunch Ride time: Staging at 9:45 Ride at 10:00 Sharp Ride Leader: Ben Davidson or his appointee. Description: We will be riding out from the Rodeo Arena on the Rainbow Valley Trail, we will have a great view of Rainbow Valley from the top of one of the mountains, we will ride down into a valley on Toothaker Trail where we will rest and eat lunch. After lunch we will ride out of the valley on the Pedersen Trail to the Gadsden Trail around a few more mountains on our way back to the last leg of the Rainbow Valley Trail that will take us back to the trailers. The views are fantastic and this is one ride you don�t want to miss. Directions: From Phoenix drive west on I-10 to Estrella Mountain Parkway, turn south travel about 5 mile, cross the river and turn east (left) to the park entrance Follow the park service road to the left all the way to the Trail Parking Area (end of the road). | December Ride Information December 12th -- Christmas Party Ride out from Diana Fichtner's House. Short Ride: About 2 or 2� hours - Rating 1 to 1� Lunch: Potluck after ride. Ride time: Staging 9:45, Ride 10:00 Sharp. Ride Leader: Diana Fichtner or her appointee. Description: This will be our annual Christmas Ride and Party. We will have a Pot Luck Lunch after the ride and will do our gift exchange, $15 to $20 limit and mark it if it's for a man or a woman or either (gifts for horses are okay). We will also be electing our new officers for 2010 and have a short Business Meeting to set our Ride Schedule.
