So me, nessa and jaja went south to check out Spelman(jaja's new school) and personally annoy as many relatives along the way as possible. rather then send everybody pictures- I'll just send everybody a link- cuz I'm efficient that way.
We left NJ early sunday morning- (lie number 1). The kids got into the spirit of the trip early-I had to keep a stick in the trunk to poke the person who was supposed to drive next.
We hit Aunt Valeria first, it took us about 8ish hours, 2 tanks of gas, 17 pretzel sticks, and 4 sandwiches to get to her house in Salisbury NC- I should have taken pictures- her house is scary nice. There's a tv in every room and Uncle James is on point with all things edible- though I'm not sure I should be sharing that info, I might want to keep this hideaway to myself. We stayed with them from sunday night til tuesday afternoon.

From Salisbury we went to Atlanta, Ga- around 5 hours and a tank and a half of gas. we stayed with Kim(Melissa's sister), she lives right outside of Atlanta with her mostly invisible husband David and her 17 year old DJ, and she's gonna kill me for posting the shot in her bathing suit- but I've led a full life, remember me.

We got to Kim's around 6ish- the traffic in Atlanta is horrendous. We went to Spelman for the tour on wednesday- it was a little disappointing, we only went inside one building they wouldn't even let us look at the inside of the dorms, but the one Jaja will be staying in has no air conditioning, so she'll be building lots of character this year. The campus is straight up in the ghetto, but there's only 2 ways on and off and there's a concentrated supply of boys right next door. Jalysa liked the place(despite the massive construction), there's lots of stuff to do and it looks like it will be a good environment for her.

We stayed with Kim til thursday, we went back to the school for t-shirts and then headed north to Charlotte NC to see Aunt Joann. It took us almost 5 hours for what should have been a 3ish hour trip- it took forever to get out of Georgia. We got to Aunt Joann's kinda late, but she fed us anyway, she's another member of the uber-house of a thousand tvs club, her house was gorgeous, but you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting a television set. Aunt Joann is the busiest woman in show business, do not under any circumstances do laundry at her house- you have been warned.
We finally left Aunt Joann's around 2 on friday afternoon, we did a driveby at Aunt Valeria's again(maybe 40 minutes away) to give her some peach salsa and then headed up to Durham to see the twins. Jenny and Janel are almost 2 hours northeast of Aunt Valeria. We stayed with Janel, Ebony was visiting from Florida. Anya- Jenny's daughter turned 4 the day after we got there- we gotta get her and Jada together-those 2 together would rot your teeth they're so cute.
On saturday we rode out to New Bern NC to visit Jan's parents- we had dinner with them, then came back to Janel's- they were planning a trip to a waterpark on sunday and the kids wanted to go too.

On sunday, instead of the waterpark we went to the arcade/minigolf/laser tag/go cart place and hung out there- we did all of the above- but only half of the mini golf-it was much too snore. Eventually we got back on the road and headed home. I'll add more pix as I get them.
