This was an opportunity that I look forward to! An independent producer whom I had worked with in the past, called me looking for help on an upcoming event. The show was to be in San Francisco and her regular staging provider was failing. She had a great looking concept that had been pitched, and accepted by her client, but she could not find someone to make it work. The real challenge was that the show was in only a few weeks, and on the other side of the country! After a quick phone call to a friend at Kent State University, this became a class project like no other! We presented the concept to the students in the Theater and Design school and offered them some real world experience. While they went to work on building a set that had more challenges than a Broadway show, I went to work designing a way to make the rest of the production come together. In only a few short weeks we made the concept into a reality! So tell me...did we come close to the vision? |
