| As Foot and Mouth disease ravages the livestock in the UK, Tiree desperately tries to keep the island free of this blight. All vehicles going onto the ferry at Oban and coming off at Tiree are subject to wheel-baths (below) and foot passengers walk through a disinfectant-soaked mat, both here and in Oban. Passengers disembarking the plane at Tiree Airport are also requested to walk through a disinfectant trough. |
