Images fromthe Isle of Tiree
Readers' Photographs of Tiree in March featured the work of Eleanor MacKinnon.
The first of Eleanor's contributions this month is the famous 'Ringing Stone' which is to be found on the north shore of the township of Balephetrish.  This curious object gives off a distinctive metallic ring if struck with a stone.
The second of Eleanor's photographs was taken from atop Ben Hough.  The large body of water inland is Loch Bhasapol, where student surfers come in their droves in the good weather to learn the sport.  It is also the site of two ancient Crannogs.  At the top left of the loch is Ard Sgoil Tiriodh (Tiree High School).  My own house is in this photograph, to the right of the school - a long white building.
