As you might guess from my surname I have very strong connections with island on my fathers side.  You will know my family - MacKinnons of Sandaig and Kilkenneth - my father is Hector MacKinnon, and Nancy, Jessie and Colin (and Alasdair) are my aunts and uncles.

I have been trying to find out more about my family through various sources with no luck.  My grandfather, Captain John MacKinnon, was from Hynish, and his son Donald was my father.  There was also a Captain Hugh MacKinnon and Margarita MacKinnon (my father's brother and sister).  I have a brother Alastair and a twin brother John and we spent many happy holidays in Tiree as children.  There wasa Lachlan and a John MacKinnon (uncles), one of who was a fireman at the airport.  I'd love to hear from any relatives.
