I am seeking any information on the following family who appeared in the
1779 census "Inhabitants of the Argyll Estates" at Sandaig, Tiree.

Hugh McArthur, 40, tenant   - (b. abt. 1739)
Mary McLean, 35                   (b. abt. 1744)
Archibald McArthur, 8            (b. abt. 1771)
Alexander McArthur, 6,           b. abt. 1773)
Donald McArthur 4,                (b. abt. 1775)
Katherine McArthur 2,             (b. ca. 1779)

No baptisms are recorded in the parish register for any of these children
nor is the parent's marriage recorded. There was at least one other
child and she was baptized in the Tiree Parish Register.

Flora McArthur daughter of Hugh McArthur of Sandaig baptized 18 Jan 1783.
Flora McArthur married Allan McLean of Tiree, (I can't find their
marriage either).They had one daughter and baptized three sons on the
Island of Jura. Flora and Allan are both buried in the Kilearnadail
Graveyard, Jura, Argyll.

Because Flora's baptism is recorded and no others, I wonder if perhaps
Hugh and his family immigrated to Tiree although I have been unsuccessful
in finding them in the Scottish Church Records or the IGI.

2 Murdoch McArthur born (Hilipol) 1787.(Tailor in Balinoe) married Marjory MacLean (Cornaigmore),1811
3 Charles McArthur born (Tiree) 1818, married Euphemia McNab (Islay) in Glasgow 1851.
