Welcome.  This page is just up as a temporary setup while the full mod page is being worked on.  The idea for this mod is remake Close Combat 5, with its strategic and tactical layes, into what was perhaps the most important land battle of World War II.....Kursk.  The Kursk salient was some 70 miles high and 50 miles deep.  It was the intention of the German High Command to cut off this buldge with a pincer movement and trap several Soviet infantry and tank armies and reestablish material parity on the Eastern Front.  The name choosen for this offensive was Operation Citadelle.  History records that this operation was doomed from the very beginning.  What is slowly coming to light with new documents being declassified is that the German Army was very close to achieving its goals  and that only Hitlers interference in calling off the operation saved the Soviet Army a defeat that could have extended the war another few years.  This mod will let the players recreate the most titanic battle fought in history.
