Norfolk, VA
Less than 24 hours, but what an emotion! Norfolk harbors the US Atlantic Fleet and hosts Saclant HQ. It is a lovely city, which offers a lot of entertainments and historical memories.

That's the "Bar"! A wonderful "disco" on the Norfolk Waterside..... where we met Isabel and Britannia ...
We kept on dancing there up to 2 a.m ...... together with Thanasis and Murat.
Not very much time to sleep downthere! We had to gather in the Lobby at 8:30, to see the harbour and visit <USS Bataan> (later dispatched to the Indian Ocean during Enduring Freedom). But <USS Wisconsin>, a WWII famous <Iowa> class battleship, was just close to the hotel, waiting for me . And I couldn't loose the opportunity to see her. So I woke up well before 7 a.m..
And I finally saw that magnificent vessel. More than 50,000 tons .....

Then, our official day started! First stop: <USS Bataan>. A 40,000 tons Wasp class anphibious assaul ship, able to operate several V/Stol aircrafts and to deploy up to 1,200 Marines. It was later operating off the Pakistani shores ...

USS Bataan seen from the pier ......... I look quite happy
