·        Managed implementation of bank-hosted solutions for reporting infrastructure; reporting application servers, OLAP servers, web servers, and database servers. Bank-hosted solution was implemented in under six months for less than $100,000.

·        Lead developer for C#/.NET web application during 5 month stint with credit risk team at the bank.

·        Developed and implemented daily reporting dashboards for new judgmental lending initiative at the bank in 2 months.

·        Successfully executed 6-sigma greenbelt project to standardize development process for seventy-five (75) Essbase cubes using MAXL and UNIX shell scripting in first 3 months on the job.

·        Dual reporting relationship into both the Shared Services technology organization and the General Bank Group (GBG). Our team deployed and supported Essbase databases for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting of profitability databases in the General Bank.

·        Single-handedly turned around a failed project at the bank in first 3 months on the job. Project called for the purchase of Windows servers and the deployment of Essbase (OLAP) software on the servers.

·        Managed $1 million dollar technology budget in support of the profitability reporting system. Launched 6 servers in 9 months.

·        Created and documented the development process for Essbase cubes in the GBG. Scripted production Essbase databases using Windows shell scripting.

·        Scripted and deployed failover and backup processes using NDM and Tivoli software packages. Hired and trained two-person technical team to support production and development initiatives.

·        Supported web reporting project and managed contractor resources implementing Hyperion Reports with batch bursting capabilities.

Location: Seattle, WA                                      Duration:  2001 - 2002

·        Built and managed finance data mart team comprised of 6 developers. Team was responsible for daily financial data feeds into the general ledger, for daily transmissions of financial data to third-party platform vendors, and for the daily reporting of inventory and financial metrics on the intranet.

·        Managed Perl/SQL script repository with over 100 daily scripts. Scripts sourced data from disparate sub-systems and transformed and loaded information into an Oracle financial data mart.

·        Provided 24-by-7 pager support for finance data mart. Migrated team’s batch scheduling system from vendor software to in-house tool which eliminated third-party software costs. Managed team’s migration from HP-Unix to Linux operating system.

·        Led successful 4 month effort to migrate finance data mart into the corporate data warehouse and generated savings of $1 million dollars in the first year.

·        Technologies utilized: Oracle, Essbase, Perl, C, HTML, Perl, UNIX shell scripting.

 

Washington Mutual Bank                                              Title: Vice President FP&A

Location: Seattle, WA                                      Duration: 1999 - 2001

·        Managed and trained 5 member data mart team in Financial Planning & Analysis department. Team had both internal and external reporting responsibilities. For internal reporting the team managed the reporting of actual and forecasted information using Essbase cubes.

·        Subject areas that were implemented into Essbase cubes included funds-transfer pricing, activity based costing, forecasted information, and actual data from the general ledger.

·        Team built and maintained an Oracle financial data mart in order to store the transformed financial data. Repository was used for segment-level SEC (external) reporting.

·        Managed migration of team into Information Technology organization during corporate reengineering effort.

·        Served as team lead on vendor selection team for $15Million enterprise profitability software purchase (People Soft).

·        Technologies utilized: Oracle, Essbase, Cognos, UNIX shell scripting.
