Mining ships are available in several types and shapes. And of course nothing stops you from mining in ships that were not designed to be mining ships. However, to limit the material to go through here a bit, we will limit ourselves to:
  • Caldari and ORE ships
  • Mining ships

    Bantam Caldari Bantam
    The Bantam is the ideal ship for starting miners. Offering a 5% bonus to cargo capacity and 20% bonus to mining laser yield per skill level with -60% mining laser capacitor use every beginning miner can use this to good effect. It is not the prettiest ship in the universe but then, Caldari ships were never made to be pretty.
     Suggested setup
  • Upper slots: 2 Miner I
  • Med slots: Whatever you feel like, Civilian or 1MN afterburner
  • Low slots: Again, whatever you feel like, Cargo expanders are nice

    •  Required skills
  • Caldari Frigate level 2
  • Spaceship Command level 1

    •  Some skills to go for
  • Caldari Frigate level 4: Needed for Caldari Cruiser
  • Mining level 4: 5% bonus per level
  • Mining upgrades level 1: Allows use of mining upgrades, a definite must for later one
