Award System



 



    After 1 year in unit: Only 1 medal from the following three choices.



  • Black Wound badge



  • West Wall ribbon



  • War Merit Cross 2nd class




  • 3rd year in unit: 2 medals allowed to be worn; one from above and one of the following.




  • Infantry Assault badge (silver or bronze)




  • General Assault badge




  • Iron Cross 2nd class




  • Panzer Assault (bronze)




  • 4th year in unit: 3 medals allowed to be worn; two from above and one of the following.




  • Kuban and Crimea shields




  • Silver Wound badge




  • War Merit Cross 1st class




  • 2 tank destruction ribbons(counts as 2 awards)




  • Any campaign cuff title with the exception of Metz and Kurland




  • Any campaign ribbons with one exception; the Russian Front ribbon




  • 5th year in unit: 4 medals allowed to be worn; three from above and one of the following.



  • Iron Cross 1st class



  • Russian Front ribbon



  • As many tank destruction badges as you want, as conforms to rules governing award system




  • 6th year in unit: Same as 5th year in addition to:


  • Bronze Close Combat clasp



  • 7th year in unit: Same as 6th year in addition to:


  • Silver Close Combat clasp



  • NCO's with 8 years of service or more are allowed to wear the following.



  • 25, 50, 75 Panzer Assault in bronze




  • 25, 50, 75 General Assault in silver




  • Specialist badges as conforms to rules governing awards system and authenticity




  • * Members 50 years or older are allowed to wear the following.



  • WWI Combatants Cross




  • Iron Cross 2nd class (WWI)




  • Black Wound badge (WWI)




  • (* within the medal limit critea)



    Owners of vehicles are allowed to wear the drivers badge in addition to the medal limit criteria .



    Staff members and section leaders are allowed 5 medals to be worn if they so choose.



    You can wear less or nothing at all, its at your discretion.



    Medals will be privately purchased.



    New members from other German units must provide proof of their inception date. Service time must be with other German units ONLY to get credit. Proof must be in the form of membership cards, detailed service records or confirmation from previous unit commander.




    AWARDS CEREMONIES




    Awards ceremony will consist of promotions and the awarding of 1 or 2 special awards for outstanding achievement or authenticity.

    2 awards will be purchased by the unit and are:



  • Gold Wound badge


  • Gold Close Combat badge



  • The person or persons who are awarded the medals will wear it until the next awards ceremony, where the award will be passed on to another member.

    Either the Council of Peers or the membership will decide by vote who should be awarded the medal or medals. The decision will be final 1 month before the awards ceremony.
