The 5. Kompaine GrossDeutschland reenacting unit was founded in October 2000 and Chartered with the World War Two Historical Reenacting Society in April of 2007. The founding members created the unit with the purpose of establishing a reenacting group that, concentrated on attending tactical events utilizing nothing but, original WWII German vehicles.

5. Kompaine GrossDeutschland was selected as a unit to portray because it was a elite unit. Also, it was involved throughout the history of the war, which allows the reenactors to portray several time periods and impressions, instead of concentrating on a specific time period, within the war.

Our unit, is comprised of a diverese group of individuals from all walks of life, from Airline pilots to Auto Mechanics and from Retired Military personal to College Students, each with the goal of having a good time and portraying the German Soldier, at his best.
