Take heart Red Sox Nation, there is always next year. Take comfort in the fact that your beloved 'Sox were beaten by a better team and more importantly should present a challange to the Yankees in the ALCS.
What happened in this series was simple. The Mariners blasted Pedro, and the middle of the lineup went AWOL. (Trot Nixon 0-4 in the 1st two games, Manny 0-4 in Game 3). Get this: Boston did not get a single hit out of the 3 spot. (They got 2 from the #5 and #6 spots)
If Seattle keep this up we may have a new AL Champ soon...
MVP: Hard to choose just one...but we'll go with 3B E. Hinske. The Game 1 hero hit a 1st inning 2-run double of Pedro, then came back and got a 3-run HR. That set the tone for the series and the M's never looked back.
