In THPS3, players can go solo and play levels with increasingly harder objectives to complete while collecting stat points to increase their abilities. Two players can play split screen and battle for points, play "HORSE", or other multiplayer modes. Players can also create their own character and level.
The graphics on this game look almost real. The surroundings in some maps are great while in others they are a bit bland. In one levels, there is a shark swimming in the water around you or lights flashing, in another there is nothing but ramps and rails. All-in-all, the game runs smoothly and it looks nice.
The controls for this game are great. The tricks are very easy to do and if you don't like the default button pattern for a trick, you can change it to fit what you like.
The sound for this game is good. There are many good songs on the game, but after a while, they get old. The sound effects are nice and the taunts from skaters challenging you to do a trick adds a lot to the game.
The gameplay for this game is okay. At first, you can't get enough of it, but then after you beat it, even the multiplayer gets boring. It is a bit too repetitive. The hidden movies on the game are excellent. They range from a movie about Tony Hawk to the programmer's makes and misses.
