| The year in review ... where do I begin? Another year, more swim and soccer trophies, outstanding report cards, honor roll certificates, and both girls now selected for "G.T" classes at Columbia ES. This will be the last year that Elisabeth and Alexandra are able to ride the school bus together, since next year Elisabeth will start middle school. It has been an action packed year, so let me give you some of the highlights ... | |||||||||||||||||||
June 2005 In early June we took advantage of a student holiday and went to Williamsburg with our friends the Frankfurts. This picture was taken at Busch Gardens and became our holiday card for 2005. Elisabeth did a dance number with two friends in the school talent show and also played violin in a strings concert. "Boo" graduated from first grade as an all-star reader.

July 4 - Cape Cod Our annual pilgrimmage north culminated in our trip to my friend John's house on Cape Cod. We spent the day on Dennis beach with Uncle Alex, Carolyn, and their girls. Notice Uncle Al in the background attempting to capture a native species - some things never change. We had a great cookout dinner with Johnny, Stevie, Cindy, and Cindy's kids. But we will have one lasting memory of our stay - can you say "Cujo?"

August The Greenbrier is an all inclusive resort in West Virginia, and is now the preferred site for Zernik family reunions. In honor of grandma Judy's 70th birthday this year, we spent another fabulous week together in the mountains which surpassed our trip in 2002. Uncle Frank and I watched the three cousins swim in the renovated outdoor "infinity" pool while the ladies enjoyed the spa. And to Alfred's delight, we got dressed for dinner in the main dining room every night.

October The girls never seem to get tired of our favorite pumpkin patch, Heather Hill Gardens Farm on Rte 123. Up until this year they didn't charge admission; and even at $4 its a bargain, since that includes a small pumpkin each. The girls even coaxed me into the corn maze tunnel where this picture was taken (on my cell phone camera).
