Here is another picture that I will include in my end of the year retrospective. This is a screen capture of a shot taken on my digital video camera from the shoreline of Jamestown Virginia near the very spot where the colonists first landed.

On the James river that day, a replica of Captain John Smith's boat was sailing up and down past the historic sites. There was an ad on television that aired in the northern Virginia market for the 400th anniversary of Jamestown that said "Every American Should Stand On This Spot." We were there a few weeks after Queen Elizabeth visited in May.
