HALL OF FAME CONSTITUTION

NAME

 

The name of this organization will be the Greater Charleston Junior Bowling Association Hall of Fame.

 

PURPOSE

 

The purpose of this organization is to honor and pay tribute to those who have contributed to the general welfare and progress of the youth bowling program in the Greater Charleston area.

 

MEMBERSSHIP

 

Membership in the Hall of Fame will be determined by election as describe herein.

 

COMMITTEE

 

The Hall of Fame Committee shall be appointed by the President of the Greater Charleston Junior Bowling Association.  Committee Chairperson will be appointed by the GCJBA President.

 

MEETINGS

 

The hall of Fame Committee shall meet prior to the Annual Meeting weekend of the GCJBA.  Any selections to the Hass of Fame must be made at the meeting.

 

SUPERVISION

 

The GCJBA Board of Directors will have full control over the GCJBA Hall of Fame.

 

NOMINATIONS

 

Nominations of the candidates for elections to GCJBA Hall of Fame can be made by any member of the bowling family.

 

  1. Qualifications of candidates should be submitted on form provided.
  2. All nominations must be submitted to the chairperson of the GCJBA Hall of Fame committee no later than May 1st of each year.
  3. Candidate must be a member of the bowling family in good standing.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  1. This award is to be given for outstanding adult leadership to the youth bowling program in the Greater Charleston area.
  2. Nominees must have been in active service to youth bowling a minimum of fifteen (15) years in the Greater Charleston area.
  3. All information on the applicable to the service of youth in the Greater Charleston area.

 

ELECTIONS

 

The Hall of Fame Committee may elect a maximum of four (4) persons each year, 2 living and 2 posthumous.

 

Each Hall of Fame Committee member will vote on nominees using a point system by ranking high to low ( i.e., with 5 nominees, highest to get 5 points and one point for the lowest) with 70% required to elect to the Hall of Fame.

 

Nominees who are not elected may be submitted again for further consideration.  Applications of nominees will be carried for two (2) years, after which they must be nominated again.

 

NOTIFICATION OF ELECTION

 

The Greater Charleston Junior Association President will notify recipients, with a copy to the nominator., in advance of the meeting at which the awards are announced.  A news release covering the elected person(s) will be released for publication after President has advised them of their election.

 

EXPENSES

 

The expenses incurred for the award(s) will be borne by Greater Charleston Junior Association Board.

 

Suitable Hall of Fame awards will be presented to the inductees at the GCJBA Annual Meeting.

 

AMENDMENTS

 

These By-Laws may be amended by a two thirds Vote of the Hall of Fame Committee.  Such amendments shall be submitted in writing to the Hall of Fame Committed Chairperson not later than sixty(60) days prior to the GCJBA Annual Meeting.  This committee shall review the propose amendments and make their recommendation to the GCJBA Board of Directors for action.
