Carl Yankee, 70 of Mount Storm died Friday, October 19, 2001 at his residence.

Born January 16, 1931 at Martin, WV, he was the son of the late Henry and Cora (Arnold) Yankee. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Oria F. Yankee and one sister, Mae Cloris Yankee.

Mr. Yankee was formerly employed as a land surveyor with Larry Kitzmiller and was also a Grant County school bus driver from 1968-1980. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by one son, Lynn A. Rhodes of Mount Storm.

Graveside services are today, Tuesday, at 1 p.m., at Knobley Cemetery, Martin, WV with Larry Pancake officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel.

Mrs. Norma Jean Yokum, 62, of Petersburg, died April 1, 2002 at her residence.

Born Dec. 7, 1939, in Hardy County, she was the daughter of the late Hobart M. Bergdall Sr. and Della Frances (Crites) Bergdall.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Yokum, whom she married April 4, 1970; one son, Craig Yokum of Petersburg; one daughter, Alicia L. Reel of Petersburg; one brother, Hobart M. Bergdall Jr. of Purgitsville; three sisters, June Mason of Shepherdstown, Shirley Harris of Waverly, Va. and Wanda Veach of Petersburg; two grandsons, Matthew L. Stump and Brandon M. Reel and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were April 5, at the Schaeffer Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg, with Interment in the Yokum Family Cemetery, Petersburg.

Allan Wayne Yokum, 39, of Keyser, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, at Nella's Nursing Home in Elkins.

Mr. Yokum was born Aug. 29, 1962, in Martinsburg and was the son of Bernice Heavener Yokum and the late Dwight Wilson Yokum of Maysville.

He was a 1980 graduate of Petersburg High School.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Deborah K. Chapman of Fredericksburg, VA; and a niece.

The Rev. Greg Rotruck conducted the funeral at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg. Burial was at Kline Cemetery in Upper Tract.

Dwight Wilson Yokum, 64, 307 Pierpont St., Petersburg, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1986 at the West Virginia Medical Center.

He worked from(sic) Federal Kemper Insurance Sales for the past 35 years. He was a member of the Petersburg Church of the Brethren, and a member of the Odd Fellows.

He was born at Landis on Oct.13, 1921, the son of Harry Bernard Yokum and Vernie Elizabeth (Layton) Yokum.

Surviving are his wife, Bernice (Hevener) Yokum whom he married on June 19, 1946; one son, Allan Wayne Yokum, Petersburg; a daughter, Deborah K. Chapman, Wyalusing, Pa.;

Three sister, Evelyn VanMeter, Winchester, Va., Elizabeth Yokum, Heartland of Keyser and Thelma Crites, Heartland of Keyser.

Services were held at the Petersburg Church of the Brethren on Monday, Jan. 20 with the Rev. Myers Kimmel officiating. Interment was in Kline Cemetery.

A funeral service was conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Petersburg Church of God for
Mrs. Marena C. Yoder, 76, of Cabins, who died Sunday night at Grant Memorial Hospital. The Rev. Douglas Cline and the Rev. Joseph Eversole officiated. Interment was in Olivet Cemetery, Moorefield.

Born March 5, 1905, Mrs. Yoder was a daughter of Charles and Barbara Currence.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jacob Reel, in 1971; one son, and one daughter.

Surviving are her second husband, Rev. John D. Yoder, Cabins; one son, Jacob E. Reel, New Market, Va.; three daughters, Mrs. Violet Schell, Petersburg; Mrs. Frances Myers, Ettrick, Va.; and Mrs. Retha "Bodge" Whorley, Ford, Va.; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence Currence, Mill Creek, and Jonathan Currence, Cass.

Arrangements were in charge of the Arnold Funeral Home, Petersburg.

The Reels were former residents of Moorefield.

Arthur Creel Yutzy, 68, of Baltimore, MD, formerly of Petersburg, died Wednesday, November 27, 1985, at Union Memorial Hospital, Baltimore.

Born December 24, 1916 at Oakland, MD, he was a son of the late Arthur Yutzy and Nora (Mosser) Yutzy.

Mr. Yutzy was a member of the VFW American Legion of Baltimore and the Loch Raven Baptist Church. He was a disabled veteran of World War II, having served with the Navy.

Mr. Yutzy was a 1934 graduate of Petersburg High School, where he was honored as an all-around athlete playing three major sports. He attended Potomac State College, Keyser, and was a member of BYKOTA (Be Ye Kind One to Another) Senior Citizen Club. Through this senior citizen club he received training in his hobby, stained glass. He spent much of his later years pursuing this hobby.

He is survived by his wife, Mila (Bergdoll) Yutzy; one daughter, Mrs. William (Jackie) Sammon, New York; one brother, Wayne Yutzy of York, PA; and two grandchildren. He was a brother-in-law of Mr. & Mrs. David L. Bergdoll of Petersburg.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Johnson Funeral Home chapel, Baltimore, with the Rev. James Worsham officiating. Interment was in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, Baltimore.
