| Elk Garden, John King Shillingburg, 63, was found dead in his home yesterday on Allegheny Front. He had been in ill health for the past four years, suffering from a heart condition. Mr. Shillingburg was born Oct. 14, 1891, at Mt. Storm, a son of the late James Gibson and Amelia Francis Sollars Shillingburg. He resided in Mineral Co. 37 years. Employed as a machinists helper in the B & O Railroad shops at Keyser, he retited following a heart attack. Survivors include his widow, Maggie Mae Kitzmiller Shillingburg, 5 daug. | Mrs. Nancy Jane Snyder, wife of Phineas P. Snyder, died at her home near Sand Flat on Tuesday morning, July 14, 1941. She was born in Grant County, WV August 20, 1879 and was aged 62 years. Twice married, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John W. Ours, in 1949. Stauffer, 86, died at his home in Palm City, Fla. After a brief illness. He was born April 4, 1908, in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. His education was received at the Mercersburg Academy, Mercersburg, Pa., from which he graduated in 1925, and continued at Princeton University (A.B., 1929). He was appointed to the house staff of the Brooklyn Hospital, on which he served from 1933 to 1936. Later on, post-graduate work was done at the Tufts Medical School and the Lahey Clinic, in Boston. Dr. Stauffer began his private practice in Canton, NY, in 1937 performing surgery at the Potsdam, NY Hospital where he was active until 1959. During this period Dr. Stauffer served four years in the Army Medical Corps, entering with the 69th General Hospital � overseas in 1942. He was a surgeon in the 30th portable surgical hospital. He was attached to the 32nd Division, and later, the First Cavalry Division of the Army with work in New Guinea and the Admiralty Islands and some service with the First Marines and the 13th Air Force. Upon his return to the United States, the doctor was the Chief of Orthopedics and Surgery at the Rhoads General Hospital in Utica, NY from 1944 to 1946. In 1952, he was a founder of the E.J. Noble Hospital and was the Surgical Chief of Staff at the New Member Hospital in Canton. Between 1959 and 19654, Dr. Stauffer was on the surgical staffs in Calaz, Va. And Petersburg, bur returned to northern New York in 1965 to practice surgery in Hamilton. He was also the team physician for the Athletic Department of Colgate University for several years prior to his retirement. He became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 1950, and was president of the St. Lawrence Medical Society (NY) in 1952. He was also a member of the New York American Medical Society and the American Medical Association. Dr. Stauffer was a recipient of Colgate University�s Maroon Citation and Silver Puck Awards.
