Born Sept. 4, 1905, in Scherr, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Victor T. and Elizabeth (McDonald) Secrist. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Merle M. Parks on Nov. 9, 1946, and a daughter, Frances Faye Moreland. Mrs. Parks spent her adult life as a respected farm lady at her Mount Storm farm until failing health prompted her retirement. Surviving are her daughter, Patericia June Parks, at home, and her son, Merle Michael Parks, York, Pa. She is also survived by five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, W.Va., on Friday, June 4, 1999, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the Mount Storm Presbyterian Church on Saturday, June 5, 1999, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert "Robbie" Anthony Parrish, 6, went from the arms of his earthly father into the arms of his heavenly father on Monday, Aug. 16, 1999 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He fought a hardy battle in his few years, against cancer. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Milton McLaughlin. Born Jan. 5, 1993, in Oakland, Md. Born Nov. 22, 1937, in Shallmar, Md., he was the son of the late Scott Perando and the late Maude Rohm Perando. He also was preceded in death by four brothers. Mr. Perando was an auto mechanic and security guard. He was a member of the Marvin United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Streets Perando; four daughters, Jacalyn A. Phillips, 91, of Petersburg, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at the Grant County Nursing Home where he had resided since Sept. 6, 1994. Born Jan. 25, 1908, in Tucker County, he was the son of the late Richard C. and Dolly (Losh) Phillips. He also was preceded in death by one son, Allen Phillips; two brothers, Clyde and Delbert Phillips; and two sisters, Pearl and Annie Phillips. Mr. Phillips was manager for Coffman-Fisher Stores until his retirement. He was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church, Past Master and 50-year member of Petersburg Lodge #145 A.F. & A.M., a member of Osiris Shrine of Wheeling, and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 146. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Margaret (Burley) Phillips, whom he married on Nov. 4, 1931; one son, H. Dean Phillips, Martinsburg; two daughters, Nan P. Kesner, Petersburg, and Ruth P. Born October 13. 1906, at Maysville, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Zettie (Phares) Keplinger. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Herbert Park in 1983; one brother and one sister. Mrs. Park was owner and operator of the Park Motel from 1930-1981. She was a notary public for Grant County and founder of the Keplinger-Phares reunion. She served as a court recorder under David E. Cuppett in Grant County and was a reporter for the Cumberland News in the 1940s. She was employed by the L. J. Forman and F. F. Mitchell, St. Law Firm for a number of years and attended St. John�s academy in Petersburg and Fairmont State College, Fairmont. Surviving include two sons, Henry Tim Park, Petersburg and Robert L. Park, Shelbyville, KY; one daughter, Nancy Ann (Park) Reid, Sarasota, Florida; two sisters, Gladys Bowman, Petersburg and Nina Thorne, Gettysburg, PA; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Born in Pendleton County December 28, 1904, she was a daughter of the late William and Rachel (Dolly) Harper. Her husband, Robert Lee Patch, preceded her in death in 1948. A member of the Petersburg Presbyterian Church. Parsons, 88, of Dorcas, died Tuesday in Grant Memorial Hospital. (14 April 1981) A native of Grant County, he was a son of the late Georgianna Parsons. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Susan (Reel) Parsons, five sons, Alvin Parsons and Richard Parsons, both of Petersburg, Don Parsons, Oakland, Md., Eston Parsons, Belleville, Ill., and Harry Parsons, at home. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Roy Funkhouser, Moorefield; Mrs. Oce Hall and Mrs. Clint Crites, Petersburg, and Mrs. A.P. Langley, Keyser; three sons, Harry Pennington, Petersburg, and Grover and James Pennington, Keyser. Two brothers and two sisters also survive. The funeral service was conducted in Oak Dale Memorial Chapel last Tuesday by the Rev. Ida Judy of Petersburg. Interment was in Olivet Cemetery, Moorefield, beside her husband. ************************************************************************************* Arthur Burgess Park passed away at his home last Thursday, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Park, known to his friends as A.B. or Burt, came to Indian Territory in 1904 and lived at Owasso for a year where he conducted a real estate business. In 1905 he moved to Skiatook where he was employed by the Rogers General Mercantile. Two years later he purchased the Brodie and Sons General Store which he operated for five years. During this time he met and married Miss Estalla Yeargain. To this union were born six children, all surviving. In 1912 Mr. and Mrs. Park and family moved to their ranch in Osage County where he lived until the time of his death. He was a member of the Skiatook Masonic Lodge, received the 32nd degree from the Guthrie Consistory. He was a member of the Osage County Fair Board for several years and Democratic precinct chairman for 20 years. He was a member of the Sperry, Okla. school board. ******************************************************************************************* Claggett E. Mr. Pratt was a lifelong resident of the Moorefield area, a retired supervisor for American Woodmark Cabinets of Moorefield, a member of Duffey Memorial United Methodist Church of Moorefield, and an honorary member and past chief of the Moorefield Volunteer Fire Company. He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Combs) Pratt; two sons, Delmas Pratt of Stephens City, Va. And David Pratt of Broadway, Va.; two daughters, Sandra Crites of Moorefield and Alma Lyon of Lahmansville; one brother, Charles Pratt of Elkins; two sisters, Nellie Sirbaugh of Stephens City and Esther Hefner of Moorefield; and eight grandchildren, Debbie Hilliard, Eric Pratt, Jamie Pratt, Wendy Crites, Jennifer Lyon, Michael Lyon, David Pratt and Katie Spitzer. A truck driver for Safeway Foods in Maryland, he also pitched for the Washington Senators farm club.
