Will of Moses Keplinger

I, Moses Keplinger of the County of Grant and State of West Virginia, make this my last will. I give devise and bequeath my estate and property real and personal as follows, that is to say, to my wife, Susanna, so long as she remains my widow for her maintance but she is to use the property with care and not to waste or destroy anything unnecessarily and after the death or second marriage of my widow, Susanna, I wish all my property, both real and personal to be equally divided between my four children, that is to my daughter, Mary, my sons, Martin and Jonathan and my daughter Annie, these being all of my children, living at the time of the writing of this instrument.  I do not wish the property to be sold but divided in the following manner, let each one of the heirs choose a disinterested person, then those disinterested persons divide the property both real, personal between the four heirs equal as near as they can.  Further, the three hundred and twenty dollars that I hold against my son, Jonathan Keplinger in three different notes, if not paid in my life time, I do not wish him to pay interest on any part of it but if he fails to pay it in my life time, I wish it to be settled as part of his legacy dower, without interest.

I appoint my son, Martin Keplinger, of the county and state above named, executor of this my will that is I wish him to see that the will is properly approved and recorded.

In witness whereof I have signed and sealed and published, and declared the instrument as my will, done at my own home and in my own house on this 2nd day of July 1885.

The said Moses Keplinger at his own home, in his own house, on said day signed and sealed this instrument and published and declared the fame for his last will, and at his request and in his presence, and in presence of each other have hereinto written our names as subscribing witnesses.

The forgoing last will and testament of Moses Keplinger deceased was on the 16th day of February 1892, proved according to law by the oaths of Alexander Turner and Wm Turner, the subscribing witnesses thereto, and was ordered to be recorded.
