This deed made this the 4th day of October in the year of our Lord 1876 between William George of the first part and Wm. George and Joseph George trustees and their successors for the Knobley meeting house said house being for the use of Greenland arm of the German Baptists Church, all of Grant County, West Virginia of the second part, witnesses that in consideration of the sum of one dollar, the said part, of the does grant unto the second party of the second part, a certain tract or parcel of ground situated in said County and State aforesaid adjoining the Knobley or George School house lot and bounded as follows to wit. Beginning at the chestnut tree above the road south corner of said school lot, thence S66E 8 pole to a stake, thence 24 E to a pole to a stake. 33 W 8 poles to the road, thence with it 16 E poles to Joseph George line, thence with it, 68 � W 8 poles to dogwood and pine thence 23 W 6.4 poles to a adjoining corner of said school lot thence with it 33 � E 8 poles to the road, corner of said lot, thence with it another of its lines 30 W 10 poles to the beginning 3 roads and 31 poles. And the said part of the first part hereby covenants with the said party of the second part that he warrant generally and defend forever the property, hereby conveyed. I Isaac Lewis a J P in and for said county in the State aforesaid do hereby certify that William George personally known to me as the same person whose name is signed subscribed to the foregoing deed appearing and delivered the said instrument of writing as his own free and voluntary act for the uses and purposes therein set forth. Given under my hand and seal this 9th day of January 1877.
