| INTRODUCTION TO OUR GROUP NEWS | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Welcom to GCC Loop Antenna Design. This is your chance to bring up something for a new loop antenna or a replacement that will out perform others. Also we discuss other loop designs such as the square box frame, circular diameter, and delta loops, and also other geometric shapes. The range that loops cover are from 0 Hz to 300 GHz or higher. The only thing that limits design is your imagination. Mainly most loop antennas cover 1 kHz to 15 MHz and longwave loops cover 144 to 520 kHz. Also many other loop antennas that we use mainly cover 510 kHz to 1720 kHz for the AM bands There is alot to be covered in active and inactive loop antennas, and the main discussion is LW and AM loop antenna designs. So pull out a roll of wire, a frame and capacitor and start coming up with something that will work better than others. If you're interested in learning something new, come join us if you are interested. Have a great day and hope for the best! I have plans in building a new loop antenna for the longwave bands and also a bigger loop for AM radio for now I have a TERK AM Advantage that covers 488 kHz to 1730 kHz with good selectivity. If you need any help with selectivity let me know in the group. Also there is lots of information about loops today so I will on this website provide links and information on loop antennas to help you out. For now we are under construction and just getting started. Like they say "Rome is not built in a day! There are lots of designs out there to try out. Just go for the links below if you have nothing that will help you out. I am sure that there is something will help you. |

| ABOUT THESE LOOP IN THE GROUPS PICTURES | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This loop antenna is a great performer. But it needs a preselector to work properly. It uses 2 ground wires that contact with the earth ground and 1 connector is connected to the receiver. I found this embroder loop in a thrift store and it uses 6 turns, and the wires are twist tied to make it look professional. It covers LW marginally but with AM and SW is performs well into the 160 meter bands. its a great addition to my monitoring station. Stereo mixer is part of a radio monitoring station and stereo system. Copyright 2004 GCC |

| This loop antenna covers well with a variable tuning capacitor and its some experiment that I did with a non used AM antenna to get the most out of my stereo system. The bad news that is fell apart and became flimsy so it did not survive well, but it was a good experiment. Next time I will be making a new version of this loop antenna to show to the group and this time it will have a new smaller capacitor in front of it. |

Picture Coming Soon |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Coming up Next.... There will be a picture of my box AM loop antenna that works well. For now I need to get it built and I need support from the group. Next there will be another for the longwave bands for my listening post. |

| Well thats it for now. I will be adding more pictures of my completed loops here and information about loop antennas. Be sure to check out our group if you want the latest information on loop antenna design. Feel free to ask questions if you unsure on how to build on correctly. For now see you soon. Don't forget to bookmark the GCC Engineering Reference Page which has some excellent information about radio and electronics as well as our radio stations! 73! Great DX! |
