| Background - Janeway's original mission was to find a Maquis ship that was lost in the Bad Lands. Her Chief of Security, Tuvok a Vulcan was posing as a Maquis memeber. Once in the Delta Quadrant, Janeway had to make a serious decision, destroy the device that sent both Voyager and the Maquis crew to the Delta Quadrant and save an alien race, The Ocampa from potential aliens called the Kazon or head the ships back home. She choose to protect the Ocampans. Knowing now they were stranded in the Delta Quadrant Janeway and the commander of the Maquis decided to make one big Star Fleet crew as the commander as 1st officer. Janeway's first officer was killed. She reactivated Tom Paris as Lieutenant and helmsman for the ship. |
