was sitting on the porch as she looked at the sky. "He doesn't love
me," she whispered t herself. Tears came down her cheeks as she tried to
hide it. "He doesn't love me," she sobbed.
"Kaoru," whispered Kenshin from behind. "Why are you
crying?" he asked.
Kaoru smiled a him, wiping her tears. "Uh, nothing. It's nothing. I'm all
right," she said and turned and looked at the stars again. Seeing him made
her cry.

"Kaoru," Kenshin whispered as she sat beside her. "What's
wrong?"
