"US Army #101: "General Peershing" 2-8-0 Consolidation Type-This locomotive was the sole survivor of the 150 2-8-0 locomotive built by Baldwin for the War Department during World War I. It originally had French-style cabs and couplers for use in that country. The other 149 went to France and are lost to history. It was donated to the museum in 1959." |
