Part I:

Introduction

Let us begin our celebration of the abundance of our Lady.  The Earth grows green again - warmed by the heat of the sun and the cool embrace of the waters.  The pulse of new life can be felt all around us.  This is a day that is ripe with re-birth, new growth, and the promise of life.

It is time to re-connect with others and with the universe.  The time of darkness slowly comes to a close.  The desire for individuality begins to fade and is replaced with a longing to be a part of something greater than ourselves.

I ask you tonight to return to nature in your hearts and minds.  Forget the city that surrounds us for once this land was wild and green - covered with trees.  Rivers and streams ran free and the air was clean and fragrant.  For now, the forest surrounds us with it’s great beauty - extending on and on...  The forest embraces us...

The God is full-grown now and he unites with the Maiden.  She conceives at this time and is fertilized by her own bounty.

This is a time for us to embrace our own unions and the special relationships we have.  Let us ask for fertility in our own lives, may our hopes and dreams flourish and grow - Magick is afoot!!!

Part II:

Enter Oak King/Exit Holly King, and union of the Maiden and Oak King

Oak King is kneeling on the ground with a scarf over his head.  The Holly King approaches him...

      Holly King:

My time of the year has drawn to a close, but fear not for my other half is ready now to awaken and consummate his union with the Goddess.  It is my time to sleep now, but at the harvest I shall return.

Oak King lifts the scarf off of his head and stands.  Holly King takes his place among the group.

Maiden:

This is my son, my love.  Great green one of the forest.  I call to you - take my hand and join with my upon this day

      Oak King:

This is my mother, my love.  You who are the maid of spring.  I will take your hand and join with you on this day.

Maiden:

You are the warmth from the sun that has coxed me from my slumber.

Oak King:

You are the earth from who’s eternal womb I emerged.

Oak King retrieves Athame, and Maiden retrieves cup with flower floating in it.

Oak King:

Behold the athame, the symbol of the male, the spark of life.  Now joined to the cup, the divine symbol of the women’s life giving womb.

Oak King lowers the Athame into the cup.

Maiden:

With this joining, the fields will grow and ripen to harvest and the wheel of life shall ever turn.

Maiden retrieves the wheel and begins to turn it with the Oak King, passing it on to each covener

until it comes back to her.

Part III:

Wishing Powder/”Balefire” scenario

Maiden now distributes the wishing powder to each covenor and says:

pour a small amount of the powder from the packet into your right hand.  Visualize your wish with perfect clarity.  Send the desire and energy within you into the powder and when you are ready release it into the air.

The Maiden now lights the large green alter candle and says:

The fire within all of us cannot burn without love.  May this flame represent the passions within your spirit, you mind and body.  May we all be fruitful in our mundane lives as well as our magickal workings.

SO MOTE IT BE!!!
