Our department encourages you to participate at the William Lowell Putnam Competition, which is held in December of every year.  More info can be found at the official website of this competition.

We believe that the competition, and the training, will be useful to you, if you will go in an MBA program or in a  Ph.D Program . More important, thousands of college students, across USA & Canada, will take the test on the same day.

The JHU Math Club  has its own schedule of events: food and lecture series for anybody who like math and problem solving.

The course policy : weekly homework assignments (~ 10 problems/week), reading assignments from the texbook and from the reserve books. One midterm take home exam. The final exam will be the competition itself. You participate to the competition. After that, you improve your solutions in a form of a take home exam.
